2005 Polaris 900 RMK crankshaft problems

I've been looking at buying a 2005 900 RMK.  I've heard they have crankshaft problems and I'm wondering if this is true.  Has anyone had any experience or problems with them.  Let me know.  Thanks.

The cranks break off because people either don't take the time or don't know the 755 / 900 has a lot of torsional vibration which causes the clutch to setlleonto the crank after being installed.
Also the torque on the clutch bolt is 90 ft/lbs. Run the sled 10 minutes and retorque. You'll be amazed at how loose the bolt has become. We usually re - torque two time.

The clutches are supposed to be balanced from the factory. But there are a ton of broken cranks out there that says maybe they weren't balanced very well. The last clutch I sent in had been factory balanced, it had 4 balancing holes in the clutch face from the factory. When it came back, it had 5 holes exactly opposite the 4 the factory put in it. Gee, I wonder why the crank had broken right at the PTO end. Balancing can't hurt, it's cheap insurance.
